High-flying experience over Lundaland
Flying a hot air balloon over Lund requires a westerly to southwesterly wind. Fortunately, it often blows like that in Lund. We have a couple of launch sites in Lund and the goal is always to try to get over the Cathedral. In the middle between the two towers, Lundapågarna, is the goal. But much higher of course! Further over the Botanical Garden and then out over MaxLab IV and ESS. If the wind is more easterly, we might start in Torna Hällestad and fly towards Lund. With a little luck (and skill) we can then fly over Lund from the other direction. Even if we come north of Lund, it is a very beautiful trip to fly west towards Öresund and the sunset.
Again if flying north from Lund we will come up towards either Kävlinge or Eslöv and perhaps land near Ellinge or Svenstorp castle. Here we fly over the site of the Battle of Lund. There is no better way to understand how the battles were fought – than from a hot air balloon. On a trip north, we often fly over Lund University Hospital and their dramatic helipad. DreamBalloon will not stop there :)!

Hot air balloon flights take place either in the hours before sunset or the hours after sunrise. During the flying season, meeting and flight times will therefore vary as they follow the timing of sunrise and sunset.
We are in the air for approximately one hour, depending on wind and weather conditions, as well as the availability of suitable landing sites, etc. However, you should allow at least four hours for the entire experience.
Hot air balloons cannot be steered. They follow the direction of the wind, and you never know exactly where you will land. After about 50 minutes, the pilot will start looking for a good landing spot.
The chase vehicle follows the balloon from the ground and aims to arrive at the landing site shortly after the balloon has landed.
We fly in many areas and you choose which flight area you want to fly in when you book your flight. In Skåne, we fly from Helsingborg, Lund, Malmö or Sjöbo. In Västra Götaland, you can choose between Gothenburg, Varberg, Uddevalla and Skaraborg, among others. Or why not try a magnificent flight over Stockholm?
