Skåne's golden patchwork

The Malmö & Lund area covers the flat, open farmland of southern and central Skåne. From above, the patchwork fields of rapeseed, wheat, and barley create a stunning mosaic of colour — especially in late spring when the rapeseed turns the landscape bright yellow. On clear mornings, the Öresund Bridge stretches toward Denmark on the horizon.

Common Questions

There's a few of us – can we be sure we'll be on the same flight?
Of course! Our flight calendar offers information on the number of open spots in each flight. Just choose one that has enough spaces for all of you and you sign everyone up for the same flight.
How many people are in the basket?
It depends – typically between 10-22 people.
Can I bring children?
Yes, children at least 130cm tall may join flights, provided they are able to safely participate and are accompanied by a guardian on board.
Can I change the flight date? What if my flight gets cancelled due to weather conditions?
Your ticket is valid for 24 months. On average, our passengers have to sign up for 2 or 3 flights before they actually fly as our flights are 100% dependent on safe weather conditions. Sometimes they fly on the 1st flight they signed up for, but sometimes it takes 3 or even 4 times before they fly. The moment your flight gets cancelled, your booking code becomes active again and you may sign up for another flight.
How long does the flight last?
We usually spend about an hour in the air. However, this depends entirely on terrain and weather conditions. Sometimes we land after just 50 minutes, as continuing the flight would require staying in the air much longer (for example, when approaching a city or dense forest). At other times, we may fly for 70 or even 80 minutes if the situation requires it. Our balloons are always equipped with enough gas to safely remain airborne for 100–120 minutes. However, you should set aside about 3–4 hours for the entire adventure. This includes a short passenger briefing, balloon setup, the flight itself, packing up the balloon, and a celebratory glass of sparkling wine shared with fellow passengers and the crew.

Balloon Flights Near Malmö

The southernmost landscapes of Skåne are famously rather flat – and, believe it or not, for hot air balloon flights, that’s a real blessing. The uninterrupted view stretches in every direction, across patchwork fields of rapeseed, wheat, and barley, all the way to the coast and beyond. In late spring, the colours alone make the whole adventure worth it. But the colours are only a start.

When the weather allows, we launch from Pildammsparken in the heart of Malmö – with all it’s brightest landmarks. Rising above the city, the Öresund Bridge appears ahead of you, Turning Torso beside you, and Copenhagen glittering across the water. At sunset, with the light dropping behind Denmark, it’s a view that puts things in perspective.

The wind shapes the rest. A southerly pushes us east toward Oxie or Lund; further east still, and Torna Hällestad and the quieter inland landscape of Skåne come into view. Wherever we end up, the whole sweep of southwest Skåne unfolds below – north to Lund, south to Trelleborg and Falsterbonäset, and on clear days the planes lifting off from Sturup in the distance.

Every route is different – but they’re all worth it.
