Where the river meets the countryside

The Gothenburg region stretches from the Göta älv river valley east into the rolling farmland of Västra Götaland. Our launch sites sit in the open countryside where the morning air is calmest. From the basket you’ll see the river winding through forests and fields, quiet villages, and on clear days the glint of the coast to the west.

Common Questions

There's a few of us – can we be sure we'll be on the same flight?
Of course! Our flight calendar offers information on the number of open spots in each flight. Just choose one that has enough spaces for all of you and you sign everyone up for the same flight.
How many people are in the basket?
It depends – typically between 10-22 people.
Can I bring children?
Yes, children at least 130cm tall may join flights, provided they are able to safely participate and are accompanied by a guardian on board.
Can I change the flight date? What if my flight gets cancelled due to weather conditions?
Your ticket is valid for 24 months. On average, our passengers have to sign up for 2 or 3 flights before they actually fly as our flights are 100% dependent on safe weather conditions. Sometimes they fly on the 1st flight they signed up for, but sometimes it takes 3 or even 4 times before they fly. The moment your flight gets cancelled, your booking code becomes active again and you may sign up for another flight.
How long does the flight last?
We usually spend about an hour in the air. However, this depends entirely on terrain and weather conditions. Sometimes we land after just 50 minutes, as continuing the flight would require staying in the air much longer (for example, when approaching a city or dense forest). At other times, we may fly for 70 or even 80 minutes if the situation requires it. Our balloons are always equipped with enough gas to safely remain airborne for 100–120 minutes. However, you should set aside about 3–4 hours for the entire adventure. This includes a short passenger briefing, balloon setup, the flight itself, packing up the balloon, and a celebratory glass of sparkling wine shared with fellow passengers and the crew.

Balloon Flights Near Gothenburg

Gothenburg sits right at the crossroads, where the river meets the sea, and the landscape around it tells that story in the best way possible from above – water, forest, farmland, and rooftops all intertwined with one another. From a balloon east of the city, the wide sweep of the Göta älv valley opens up below, a landscape of lakes and agricultural plains that defines this part of Västra Götaland.

The wind determines the route, as it always does. Some mornings carry you out over open farmland and quiet villages; others let you drift toward the water, where the scattered islands of the Bohuslän coast come into view. Sometimes it’s more city, sometimes more countryside – but what everyone who flies with us agrees on is that it’s the journey itself you remember, not a checklist of what you passed over.

With over 25 years of experience, our licensed pilots know this landscape better than anyone and bring something new to it every flight. We fly from spring through autumn, selecting the best launch site each day based on wind and conditions.

A balloon flight over Gothenburg is an experience unlike anything else – this one is definitely going to stay with you!
