Skövde sits in the shadow of Billingen – a great flat-topped mountain rising abruptly from the plains, the kind of geological oddity that makes sense the moment you see it from above.
Below, the agricultural plains stretch wide and open, with the towns of Skövde, Skara, Mariestad, and Lidköping each offering their own particular panorama. To the west, Lake Vänern – one of the largest lakes in Europe – appears on the horizon like a second sky.
With five launch sites across the region, our pilots have the range to follow the wind wherever it leads – over ancient farmland, past medieval church towers, and out toward the water.
It’s a part of the country that deserves a long, slow look to fully take in and appreciate – and a hot air balloon flight is your chance to do just that.
